Hello, Readers, To God be the glory. I would like to take a little time to tell you about this book that I have written and how God led me to write it. Over the years of growth, I can truly say I have developed a personal relationship with Christ. He speaks to me; he tells me things that only Christ could tell me. He often gives me messages in the form of poems. That, only God can do! God gives me the words, and I simply write them down. I remember the first poem Christ gave me. It was a home-going poem for my father. On June 19, 2007, my father went to glory. I wanted to say something about my father publicly, but I had a fear of speaking before crowds. There was something about speaking before a crowd that always gave me a feeling of fear. I couldn't let this fear stop me from letting the world know how I felt about this great man. I needed to write something down to let people know how I felt about him. I experienced a lot of sleepless nights trying to think of words worthy of my feelings for him. Two days before the home-going, I was awakened at 2:00 a.m. by what I believe to be the Holy Spirit. I went into another room, and within an hour, I had written a poem that I felt was worthy enough to tell. The church clerk read the poem and mentioned that I wrote it. I was complemented for the words I wrote. All I could say was "to God be the glory." Here is the first poem I wrote, entitled "Greet Us with A Smile." Good night, Daddy, we'll see you in a while When we get to heaven, you'll greet us with a smile Mama, Kenny, Bruce, and the rest We want to thank you, Daddy, for giving us your best Go ahead and sleep, Daddy. Go ahead and rest We'll see you in the morning, though I must confess We're really going to miss you but only for a while Because when we get to heaven, you'll greet us with a smile Thank you, Jesus, for letting us borrow him this long Help us to understand that it was time for him to go home But we all know it's only for a while Because when we get to heaven, you'll greet us with a smile With all the love that a family could give You'll always be with us because in us, you'll always live Go ahead and sleep, Daddy, but only for a while Because when we get to heaven, I know you'll greet us with a smile In loving memory of John Edwin Longuemire, Sr. May 31, 1926-June 19, 2007
