Produktbeschreibung
A contemporary Sherlock Holmes, the eccentric Bernie Quist is a consultant detective in the city of York. Christmas is days away and once again the reclusive sleuth will be quietly celebrating alone. His assistant Watson, a teenager from the Grimpen housing estate, has other ideas, mostly involving parties, girls and beer. Yuletide plans are halted when three chemists die and the fiance of one hires them to look into her apparent suicide. After discovering the chemist wasn't engaged, they're drawn into the mystery when their employer is killed. Added to this, Watson has a puzzle of his own - Quist is clearly hiding something and he's curious to know what. The investigation leads to a shady cartel of northern businessmen, a forgotten Egyptian cult and an ancient evil lurking in the medieval alleyways of York. Quist's secret is also revealed, and Watson doesn't know what terrifies him the most.

Autorenporträt
Ian Jarvis grew up in the seaside town of Ramsgate, in the county of Kent, which is known as the 'Garden of England.' He served in the Royal Navy and upon leaving, began working locally, where he found his niche in management. He successfully completed management courses in college, where he honed his writing skills, he remained in management for several more years. Ian won a prize, several years ago, when he entered a 'Child and Parent' poetry competition, at his sons school, this gave him the confidence to continue writing poetry and begin writing short stories. Over a 20-year period, Ian frequently fished along the shore at Sandwich Bay in Kent, England, which is the location of his book, 'Light in the sky.' He has many memories of his times spent along the coast, where he witnessed several incidents, some of which found their way into, 'Light in the sky.' Moving to Canada in 2008, he settled in a small town, where his writing continues, and he also secured employment as an operations manager. His favorite past-time is fishing. He fished in the sea in England, he now fishes on the ice, during the winter or from a boat during the summer, in the fresh waters to be found in Canada. Ian has work in progress, which follows on where 'Light in the sky' left off, in 'Memories of the future.'
