In addition to her literary pursuits, Crown Shepherd actively contributes to her community by serving on several non-profit boards in the Twin Cities. Her commitment to fostering positive change has not gone unnoticed, and she has been recognized as a publishing fellow for Wise Ink. Crown's dedication to the arts and literature has also earned her accolades in the form of several prestigious Minnesota Art grants. These grants have allowed her to further her mission of promoting literacy and making a lasting impact on her community.
