Charlie's Piggy Bank is the first book of a series Learning with Jordan. The series is educational books for children, preferably between ages five to 12 years. Charlie's Piggy Bank is written by a young African American author from Mississippi by the name of Monea Jordan. Monea has been an educator and taught many core skills to children over the years. Monea lives by teaching the basics and giving light to skills a child will need when they figure out what they want to be when they grow up. The first book of a series titled, Charlie's Piggy Bank. The book is about a brown skinned girl by named Charlie, who received a piggy bank on her birthday. Charlie did not understand what the purpose of the piggy bank was, until she wanted ice cream but did not have any money. She was on the school bus and had a taste for ice cream, so she went home to ask her father. He sends her to her piggy bank. The piggy bank is empty and still new. Charlie produces an idea. She usually sees loose change around the house and outside in her father 's truck. So, Charlie took it upon herself to go search for coins when she got home from school. The problem was she had to collect coins before the ice cream truck come by which is at 4:30 PM.
