The corpses of several teenage girls are turning up, abandoned and brutally mutilated, in isolated locations around the Spanish province of Biscay, in the Basque Country. There are no leads on the killer; nobody knows anything about the mysterious assailant, and the only thing that the victims have in common with each other is that they are all lonely young girls.

The investigation brings the young medical examiner Natalia Egaña, along with the murder detective Carlos Vega, to discover that the killer contacts their victims via the Internet. Using the pseudonym of 'Charon', the murderer gradually closes in on them, finding out their most intimate secrets, and winning their love, until finally arranging a lethal date.

Autorenporträt

I was born in Biscay in 1974. Ever since I learned to read, books have been one of my favourite addictions (aside from chocolate, coffee and cigarettes), and certainly the healthiest. From an early age, I wanted to write, and would create little adventure stories that I illustrated myself. As I grew up, I became more serious. I studied Psychology, along with a couple of Masters degrees, and ended up being exploited by a lot of companies that I never fitted in with. During one of my periods of unemployment, I came across an advertisement for a creative writing course, and signed up for it. Thanks to that course, I learned how to bring out the stories that I carried around with me, to create characters, to organise the plots... And suddenly, I found myself with a finished novel. To date, I now have five self-published novels: La red de Caronte [Charon's Network], Ojo del gato, and the fantasy trilogy Viajes a Eilean: Iniciacion, Arcanos, and La ley de lo triple. In less than two years of flying solo, my novels have had thousands of downloads, I have received wonderful feedback from readers and bloggers, and my stories have been read in over 50 countries across all continents. On the personal side of things, I live with my lifelong boyfriend-turned-husband (at last), who is my greatest source of encouragement in this madness, and also my toughest critic. We share our home with our enormous dog, Art, and our little kitties Rahu, Chelsea, and Cyllan, and, in spite them spending the day bringing me toys and jumping all over the keyboard, I continue to progress with my novels. I hope that you enjoy reading them.
