Fuming, Charity stands up to her father, and the stranger quickly realizes he's made a fast enemy of the redheaded spitfire. With her father considering the offer and thinking his daughter could do better than a run-down bar populated by degenerates and lechers, she makes it her mission to prove herself the better owner of Daddy's legacy.
Adding fuel to her drive, she's annoyingly developed a crush on the stranger due to his unwillingness to bend to her demands like most in town do. She takes it upon herself to show the stranger what owning the bar entails by inviting him to the after-hours, adults-only experience at the town's yearly cherry festival. While there, Sarge gets into a fight with Cherry's brutish ex to prove a point and maybe win over Charity in a display of raw masculinity.
Instead of fawning over his stupidity, she puts ice on the flames building between herself and Sarge.
At least, she does until she finds out that her bit part in the Friday night finale of the festival has shifted. The regular star of the show has fallen ill and the town leaders have voted Charity in as the young woman's replacement. After being outvoted, her father has gone to great lengths to ensure her partner for the show is his new bartender. Considering he's the only man Daddy's ever seen turn his daughter's advances down, he's also the only man Daddy trusts to let Charity lead the sordid dance.
The rivals quickly find themselves on display in front of a large portion of the town, and Sarge dutifully follows Charity's guidance. The only question is, how far will Sarge let Charity go when he discovers the expectation among the audience is to see the town tease get tamed atop the mechanical bull in her father's bar.
