This is a children's rhyming Christmas book about a Christmas Pickle that doesn't know he is a Christmas ornament. He has no idea where he came from and doesn't even have a name. He is lonely, sad, and constantly getting shuffled around the store. He doesn't feel like he fits in anywhere, and all he wants is a friend. One day a girl comes to the store with her mother and asks to buy him. He thinks he's finally found a friend. The little girl's mother says the pickle looks like it'll break too easily, and she doesn't want her daughter to throw a fit - especially not so close to Christmas. After being ignored and moved around for a long time, he is picked up twice in the same day. He thinks it's the little girl, but he's shocked to see an old woman. Once she pays, things go from bad to worse. He's shoved in a pitch-black bag, jostled around, and when he's finally freed of his packaging, he's shoved in a tree. It turns out that that old woman is actually the little girl's grandma. Grandma's grandmother was responsible for the Christmas Pickle tradition. Grandma tells the little girl the story and then surprises her when she tells her a Christmas pickle is hidden on the tree. The girl quickly finds Pickle and even gives him a name. The girl's mom even decides to let the fact that it's an ornament go and let the girl play with the pickle. The girl and Pickle are both ecstatic to have a new friend. The whole family is filled with holiday cheer!
