The analyses and findings of this work provides a framework to improve the entities of the civil protection system, its subsystems, institutions and agencies; they are subjects of examination to improve their command, control and operational capacities during disasters. The challenges described in the book are of different nature and have arisen from a variety of global settings, yet they all implemented effective and more adaptive, cooperative methods for civil protection on a national and international level.
