Thomas G. Welsh, PhD, is an independent scholar and professional writer and editor living in Youngstown, Ohio. He is a member of the advisory board of "Steel Valley Voices, "? a web-based project to promote awareness of the community's diversity. He is the author of "Closing Chapters: Urban Change, Religious Reform, and the Decline of Youngstown's Catholic Elementary Schools" (Lexington Books, 2011) and the co-author of "Strouss': Youngstown's Dependable Store" (The History Press, 2012). Gordon F. Morgan Jr. grew up in Campbell, Ohio. His articles have appeared in Youngstown-based news publications, including the "Metro Monthly" and the "Vindicator." He also writes for and edits "Drum and Bugle Call, " the newsletter of the Mahoning Valley Civil War Round Table, where he serves as program director.
