CLUB GOLF aims to help golfers understand the many types of golf competitions including Stableford, Par, Foursomes and Flag Competitions - played at Club level, and to show a standardised method of scoring for each event. The book was prepared in consultation with a panel of professionals and golf administrators and has the full endorsement and support of the NSW Golf Association and Golf Australia.

Golf is now one of the major participant sports in the world with an estimated 80 million men and women playing the sport worldwide. In Australia it is estimated that two million people play regular club and social competition at more than 1,500 courses.

In Asia 12 million people play golf in Japan, and Korea, China, Malaysia, and Thailand have all experienced strong growth in their golf participation. The United States has more than 25 million golfers and the U.K. And European countries approximately 1.5 million.

The sport is well organised at most levels but there are still many frustrations for the average weekend golfer, not least the game itself.

Most clubs maintain the interest of their members by holding a variety of competitions throughout their annual calendar. Mostly, they incorporate the standard handicapping system which gives everybody an even chance of competing successfully in individual, mixed, or team events.

Club Golf aims to help golfers solve a major problem that regularly confronts them - that of understanding the many types of golf competitions and knowing how to uniformly score them on your card.

This book will simplify this aspect of the game for you and allow you to concentrate on more important things such as moving that little ball around the course in the minimum number of strokes.

Club Golf was prepared in consultation with a panel of professionals and golf administrators and has the full endorsement and support of the NSW Golf Association and Golf Australia.
