Our Arabic literature is a living organism, something like a great tree whose roots are firmly established and extend into the depths of the earth, whose branches have risen and spread into the reaches of the sky, and which centuries and centuries have passed and whose water of life is still abundant, flowing through its firm root in the earth and in its branches towering in the sky.
