Surely, none of the latter is good for the body or the soul. The recent Covid 19 pandemic has slowed things down, but has also caused more stress, tragedy, anxiety and worry.

The older times and lifestyle of a simpler, more ordinary way of living, at a slow, relaxed pace, with little change, is still hankered after by many. Things were black or white, unlike today, where anything goes. It was not all sunshine for it had its dark days, but there was a friendliness, conversation, humour and story-telling. This Collection of light reading looks, to some extent, into colourful characters of rural Ireland in the somewhat simpler times which were rich in such characters and their unique lifestyle and ways of doing business. We could say that they were, in a way, the unsung stars or celebrities of days gone by. The writer hopes that you may either laugh or shed a tear. You might even do both, and if so, good luck to you.
