Autorenporträt
"Lance Brendan Young is an assistant professor in the Department of Communication at Western Illinois University-Quad Cities. He had a career in business when he began studying communication at the University of West Florida, where he subsequently taught. Eventually he left business to earn a Ph.D. in Communication Studies at the University of Iowa, where he joined the College of Dentistry as a visiting assistant professor. He completed a postdoctoral research fellowship with the Department of Veterans Affairs, researching communication and rural health, mental health, and sexual trauma. His research includes quantitative, qualitative, and theoretical approaches and has appeared in both medical and social science journals, including Archives of Internal Medicine, Journal of Gerontological Nursing, Journal of Telemedicine and Telecare, Journal of Family Communication, International Journal of Mental Health and Addiction, Alcoholism Treatment Quarterly, and Addiction Research and Theory. He has received instructional grants to facilitate patient-provider communication in a dental setting.
