Autorenporträt
Allyson Whipple began writing poetry at the age of twelve, igniting a lifelong love affair with the written word. She has published two poetry chapbooks: Come Into the World Like That (Five Oaks Press, 2016) and We're Smaller Than We Think We Are (Finishing Line Press, 2013). Allyson also serves as administrative director of Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review, and co-editor of the Texas Poetry Calendar.

Allyson began practicing yoga in 2007 as a way to reduce stress in graduate school. While she spent several years studying the Iyengar and Anusara methods, she is now earning her Level 1 certificate in ParaYoga with Yogarupa Rod Stryker. In 2019, she created Luna Nidra as a way to help people connect to their creative selves through yoga nidra, meditation, and restorative practice.

Allyson lives in Austin, Texas with her dog, Simon. She teaches technical communication at Austin Community College, and hosts Yoga Nidra Happy Hour every Monday night. In addition, Allyson enjoys hiking, camping, and baking.
