"Novels of the History of Islam" are a series of historical novels that deal with the stages of Islamic history from its beginning until the modern era. In it, Jurji Zidane focused on the element of suspense and excitement, with the aim of getting people to read history without getting tired or bored, and to spread historical knowledge among the largest segment of them. Fictional work is lighter among people than serious scientific study with a grim academic character. The novel "Fath Al-Andalus or Tariq" enters Ibn Ziyad" in a series of novels on the history of Islam. It is the third novel, in addition to "The Girl of Kairouan" and "Abd al-Rahman al-Nasser," in which Zidane deals with the extended period of Islamic rule in Andalusia. This novel includes a statement about Spanish history before the Islamic conquest, with a description of the social and political conditions prevailing among its people during the rule of the Goths. The novel also deals with the historical events that witnessed the conquest of Andalusia at the hands of Commander Tariq bin Ziyad, and the killing of Roderick, King of the Goths. Despite the centrality of the character of Tariq bin Ziyad as a historical figure, the heroism of the novel was Florinda, the daughter of Count Julian, ruler of Ceuta, and the fiancée of the son of the king of the Goths.
