Autorenporträt
Hatem M.A. Amin, PhD, MRSC, holds an M.Sc. in Chemistry from Cairo University (Egypt) and received his Ph.D. in 2016 from Bonn University (Germany), supported by a DAAD Scholarship, for his work on electrocatalysis for energy conversion and storage applications. Afterwards, he joined the University of Oxford (UK) as a DFG Postdoctoral Fellow with Prof. Richard Compton, working on single nanoparticle electrochemistry and physicochemical analysis of electrochemical reactions. In 2019, he moved to Ruhr University Bochum (Germany) where he is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Faculty of Chemistry and Biochemistry. He is also a Lecturer at Cairo University (Egypt). His research interests are interdisciplinary and range from fundamental electrochemistry passing through functional materials development and characterization to applied aspects of electrochemistry including sensors, electrocatalysis and Li-batteries. He has co-authored over 20 articles in peer-reviewed journals and a patent application. He is also a reviewer for several international journals. In addition, he has partaken in many national and international conferences such as the Annual ISE and GDCh meetings. He is a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS), the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and the Electrochemical Society (ECS). Ahmed Galal, PhD, received his PhD in 1992 from the University of Cincinnati (USA). Since 2007, he has held a Professorship in Chemistry at Cairo University (Egypt). He has been appointed to several executive and consultancy positions: Dean of the Faculty of Science, Cairo University (Egypt), 2008-2011; Interim Head of Center of Hazardous and Environmental Mitigation, 2011-2012 (Ministry of Higher Education & State Ministry for Scientific Research, Egypt); Minister Advisor, 2007-2011 (Ministry of Higher Education & State Ministry for Scientific Research, Egypt); Member of Strategic Planning and Technical Support Centre, 2007-2011 (Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Egypt); Member of Board of Research, Development and Innovation Program (a Program funded by the European Union, 2007-2011). His research focuses on corrosion science, biosensors and design of advanced materials for various applications. He received several prestigious national and international awards for his contribution to science such as State of Egypt Prize in Excellence in Research. He has published over 180 research papers of national and international repute and he is a reviewer for many international journals. He is a member of the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE) and Egyptian Society of Polymer Chemistry.
