Autorenporträt

Deborah Blumenthal is an award-winning journalist and nutritionist who now divides her time between writing children's books and adult novels. She has been a regular contributor to The New York Times (including four years as the Sunday New York Times Magazine beauty columnist), and a home design columnist for Long Island Newsday. Her health, fitness, beauty, travel, and feature stories have appeared widely in many other newspapers and national magazines including New York's Daily News, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, Woman's Day, Family Circle, Self, and Vogue.

Blumenthal is the author of twenty-one books, most of them for children, including five young adult books: FAT CAMP, THE LIFEGUARD, MAFIA GIRL, A DIFFERENT ME, and HURRICANE KISS. Her latest picture book, POLKA DOT PARADE, a book about New York Times fashion photographer/ folklorist Bill Cunningham, was published by Little Bee in August of 2018. PARROTS, PUGS, AND PIXIE DUST: A BOOK ABOUT FASHION DESIGNER JUDITH LEIBER, was published by Little Bee on September 17th.
Blumenthal lives in New York City.

Her latest romance novel, SOMEONE ELSE'S LOVE LETTER, was published by Diversion Books in 2016, and her latest YA novel, HURRICANE KISS, was published by Albert Whitman & Co., in 2016.
