This is a series for those who are inclined not to rewrite history, but to comprehend it, using primary sources without notes and interpretations. "Cossacks" is a historical novel by the famous Russian writer Ivan Fedorovich Nazhivin (1874-1940). The novel, published in 1928 in Paris, tells of a bloody peasant uprising of 1670-1671, led by the brave and cruel Cossack ataman Stepan Razin.
