Aurelius, Byron, andGreyson are all there for her as they were before. But Damien the demon joins their little group and prove his worth as a member of the team when he sticks by their side and offers to head out to find the monsters with Halla and the crew.

The Council won't let Halla and her friends go to the Surface. After a fight, thegroup decidesto sneak out, andthey make it to the Surface without a hitch. It doesn't take too long before they find the monsters.

But something is very, very wrong.

Halla and her friends have to head back to The Oasis before a new wave of monsters - bigger and more murderous than before - make it back and kill all her friends and family. They must round up the Unnaturals to stand up for themselves and fight.

When they return home,they are met with the same adversity as before, andit only makes Halla angry. Why will the Council not allow them to fight for their freedom? When Halla is shot down by the very leaders that should protect The Oasis once again, something in Halla snaps, andshe knows what needs to be done.
