On March 21st 2020 The United Kingdom entered lockdown. Everything that we took for granted on a daily basis was no more. Due to a global pandemic, the fatal disease Covid -19, the UK was having to fight the greatest crisis since the Second World War. At PureGym Redditch, we decided to start a facebook group to support all our members through this time with live fitness classes, digital coffee and natters, and what is now known as Covid Kitchen. Many of our members and their friends were having to self isolate making their home a very lonely place. So, every Friday night and at the start a Wednesday, as well we cooked together. We travelled to all the countries that we had memories from our holidays and cooked their local cuisine, including making sure we hit Steak & Ale pie for a very special VE day, albeit the chef may have been a bit tiddly. Some great friendships have been formed from this very special group. The memories and stories that we shared will be treasured for a long time.
