Cultural pessimism arises with the conviction that the culture of a nation, a civilisation or of humanity itself is in a process of irreversible decline. Oliver Bennett is the Director of the Centre for Cultural Policy Studies at the University of Warwick. He has published widely on the subject of cultural policy and is the founding editor of the International Journal of Cultural Policy. He is the co-editor of a forthcoming book series in Cultural Policy Studies.
