As a child, Nicholas was an avid reader. His mother fueled his love for books by taking him to the library twice a week. But it wasn't until he became an adult that he fully realized the impact that reading has had on his life. He credits his success as an adult to the love of books that his mother instilled in him at a young age.

Barbara was a teacher with a dream of writing books for children. Despite battling brain cancer, she persevered and wrote two children's books before passing away in 2017. Nicholas was determined to carry on his mother's legacy by publishing her books. He learned how to self-publish, and when he released the two books on Amazon, Curly Crow was born.

But Nicholas didn't stop there. He fell in love with the process of publishing and decided to build upon the Curly Crow character his mother had created. He gave the character a new look and started writing his own stories about her. Nicholas hired an illustrator and began publishing his own Curly Crow children's books. He has now published several books with matching coloring books, and has made Curly Crow a business. On his website, he sells his books and uses his blog to support parents and help kids develop a love for reading.

Nicholas works full-time in higher education, and even though he loves his job, his true passion is Curly Crow. He spends his free time doing author visits at schools and libraries, speaking to children about his journey as an author, and encouraging them to try new things and keep reading.
