It just might be the most exciting honeymoon trip ever.

Touring cross-country on bicycles. Why not just go for it?

Ride along with this intrepid newlywed couple as they set out in 1974 on a 3-month-long ride across the United States, from California to New York.

Navigate Big Sur in headwinds, camp in a tube tent, conquer mountain passes, and run out of water in the desert.

Read their stories and enjoy over 50 vintage photos from this 4,300-mile bicycle trip. Explore the small towns. Meet a collection of crazy characters.

Ride into unpredictable situations and experience the natural beauty they discovered while discovering themselves along the way.

Back in the days of paper maps and pay phones, they met every challenge head-on, with confidence and the innocence of youth, learning lessons that would last a lifetime.

Ten chapters, approximately 200 pages, with photos.

Autorenporträt
After a career spent editing the works of others, Lynn Natal Hartman found a meadow and launched her own writing career in Northern Arizona, in the shadow of the San Francisco Peaks. She and her stargazing, bicycling husband live among the wild sunflowers and tumbleweeds. Her days are spent nurturing stories as they emerge, always hoping for a garden full of flowers where she will keep on writing.
