Produktbeschreibung
Is Sara reaching too far into the stratosphere to dream of finding "true love" with the star of the high school choir musical when she is bald and still weakened from chemotherapy? After missing a year of school in her battle with leukemia, Sara is filled with a passion to live life as fully as possible, make friends in a new school, and be "normal." Just when she begins to give up on romance, the appearance of some curls on her head, some fancy dancing and a cheerful smile seem to turn her life around. When she is again diagnosed with leukemia the day after her first kiss, she fears that two more years of lethal chemotherapy will be the death of her love life and her ability to tour and perform with her friends ever again. This is a true story of courage and the will to survive told by Sara in daily diary entries as it was happening.

Autorenporträt
Nancy Hussey had no plans to author a book until she discovered her daughter's many teen diaries which were disguised as school notebooks clearly not intended to read by Mom. But she soon became engrossed in the intimate details of Sara's first love and the unfolding drama that she knew would keep readers intrigued. She believed that Sara's optimism and ability to live her joyful moments to the fullest would be an inspiration for all adolescents and young adults striving to reach their dreams. Twenty years of writing about her clients gave Nancy the courage to write about her own daughter's nine year battle with leukemia; she left Sara to share with the reader the affairs of her own heart. The author's narration (including humorous reactions to Sara's teen angst) interweaves the threads of everyone's hopes and fears for Sara as they struggle again and again to deny the specter of her death.
