Karen married as a teenager and is blessed with three children and seven grandchildren. Besides being a registered nurse, she and her husband have served as missionaries for thirty-five years. They founded Harvest Field Ministries, focusing on sharing the hope of Jesus Christ, equipping and empowering the nationals in their countries.
