Mai Ziadeh says in the introduction to her book: I have become to admire people and envy them for what they have, but I cannot achieve the same, and I take solace in their manifestations of depression so that those manifestations become a link, even if weak, between me and them. However, I only increased the feeling of my confusion and helplessness, I only increased the feeling that I was an unnecessary imagination in the face of those happy, laughing people - even though this imagination asked of him for a lot of things and he did not know what it was. For a moment, I thought that I had reached the depths of despair and that I had drunk the cup of bitterness to the point of dregs. Then it was revealed to me that there is an intangible existence called happiness, and I understood that nothing is more cruel to souls than their silence and inability to receive that violent revelation and feel that deep sweep.
