[The Comprehension of Service in Russian-German Free Churches] The ethno-religious piety of the Russian-Germans has rarely been taken into account by academic research up to this point. Yet the Russian-German free evangelical church services are among the most well-attended in Germany. In this book, the understanding of the church service in Russian-German free churches will be reviewed. In a brief historical abstract, the formation of piety, culture, and tradition from various spiritual influences will be presented. Furthermore, the church service praxis will be outlined and evaluated in a critical-analytical manner. The historical-theological, sociological, and psychological factors that form a church service understanding will be considered. In the context of a plural mainstream society with a growing proportion of migrants, there is great opportunity to learn in dialog with other Christian confessions in a manner of mutual consideration and respect.
