Autorenporträt

Luis Aponte is originally from Savannah, Georgia but grew up in Italy, Germany, and Hawaii as a military dependent and has currently made South Florida his home. After serving in the United States Air Force immediately following high school, Luis earned his Bachelor's degree in Communication - Film and Video from Florida Atlantic University using the G.I. Bill he received from the military. There, he served as the Historian for both Golden Key International Honour Society as well as for Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society at Broward College. His first book, "Death of a Gas Guzzler" was banned from publication in China due to a chapter quoting other banned authors. For the past two years, Luis has used his film production skills to record Librarians reading from banned or challenged books during the American Library Association's "Banned Books Week."
