Strippers and strip clubs are all over the news and in movies and television shows. There are websites devoted to the subject of strip clubs and they do a tremendous traffic. There are no published statistics that I am aware of with a count of how many people visit strip clubs every year, but we all know it's a lot. TV talk show hosts we know and love have tried to figure out why, and I have some answers. It's my story, and the stories of just a few of the girls, but it will shed a little light on the bigger picture. It should be of interest to men who go and the women who wonder why. I am a "nice guy", but in the past 5 years I have spent hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars overindulging in this vice, initially as self-prescribed therapy for my divorce. I can now honestly say that some of my best friends are strippers! Ridiculous and fun times, stupidity, and tragedy...it's been a grand adventure and it definitely changed my life - so I want to share it with you.

Tim has ridden an elephant in Thailand, eaten with generals at Doi Tung, slept in a royal villa at the Golden Triangle; sat upon the beach in Bali, visited the Elephant Cave, the monkey forest, and Gitgit Falls; sipped champagne, wiping the tears of a Russian prostitute while watching a man in a gorilla costume tell jokes in Madrid; swum with dolphins off Lanai and drove a jeep on the ridges of its volcano; seen the twin towers of Kuala Lumpur through raindrops; stayed in the Blue Mansion in Penang; watched fireworks New Years Eve midnight at a castle in England; kayaked in the Channel Islands; skied in the French Alps and Japan; visited the waterfalls in Yosemite and Hetch Hetchy and the geysers of Yellowstone; slept on the Queen Mary; held a shrunken head from the Amazon; handled a ceramic pot dated in years BC; played tug-of-war with a morray eel and an octopus; driven across town with $300,000 in PreColumbian gold in a Renault Encore; driven an International Harvester Scout through a wall; once fixed the accelerator linkage in a Datsun 510 at the side of the freeway with a paper clip. He has been robbed at gunpoint, but not stung by a bee or broken a bone. He has been an illiterate, uninsured illegal alien, unable to speak the language. He has had jobs counting children, plankton, and paintings. He knows a real secret password and a real secret handshake. He has known some amazing women. He has friends who are loyal and true, and family who love him. Tim is divorced, bankrupt. He lives alone, his cats having passed away at 20 and 22, respectively.
