Much has been said about sustainability, but few people have really defined what it means. This book takes the reader through the tangled web that has built up around 'sustainability' and 'sustainable development'. It defines what meaningful sustainability should be, which the book explains should be seen as different from 'sustainable development'. In particular it looks at what economic, ecological and social sustainability should be. It also discusses the key problems of denial and unsustainable worldview, which are often missing in current works on sustainability.
