The root of Lenard's emotional struggles finally comes to light when his mother, Sophia, drops a bombshell secret on Rabah.

As if that's not enough, threats to Rabah by Mexican cartels, seeking a share of the Mekong drug production that Rabah had wrested from them a decade ago, escalate further, culminating in the CIA targeting him directly. Every chapter brings a new curveballanother face-off, another jaw-dropping reveal, or an unexpected turn that keeps you hooked.

Even though Lenard is an intelligence officer and Rabah remains a drug cartel leader while also running a legal arms business, they're still human at their core. They experience the same emotional highs and lows as anyone else. Their messy, complicated relationship is packed with moments that resonate, reflecting the universal struggles of love and connection.

Autorenporträt

I've been an English Language Instructor at a public university in Istanbul for 21 years. Along with my bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from Istanbul University, I also graduated from the Vocational School of Justice there, which allowed me to dive deeper into criminal and legal matters and incorporate them into my writing. For the past three years, I've focused on writing in English to connect with a broader international audience.

In the Desert Rose trilogy, I've created a unique world for my characters, covering four key years of their livesyears that have mirrored nearly four pivotal years of my own: writing, editing, re-editing, translating, re-editing, proofreading, re-editing, proofreading, and re-editing again, all while cycling through the madness of it. The story unfolds in a world where absurdity is the norm, justice is served by the characters themselves, and compassion is doled out only to those deemed worthy.

Beyond Desert Rose, which is my first attempt to reach a global readership, I've also published three books in Turkish, which were released almost a decade ago. Desert Rose marks a key turning point in my writing career, bridging my storytelling with audiences around the world.
