Inspired by the work of great ethologists like Charles Darwin and Jane Goodall, Wildner attempts to explore the nature of human beings when they are forced to deny their basic instincts. Set in a fictionalised, early America, the story follows Matthew Hurst, a young man with a passion for hunting and a desperate yearning for adventure. This yearning takes through the sordid urban landscape and deep into the troubled wilds of nature. Throughout the story Matthew will encounter a series of characters that bring out the worst in him, and he is slowly exposed to us as a weak and deeply conflicted individual. The binding theme of the story is that of animal nature, and its ability to unravel even the most complex of man's creations.
