It contains the first critical edition of the entire text (about 3,500 verses), where Psalms and their metaphraseis are displayed synoptically. The introduction provides a complete examination of the manuscripts; a survey of the language and the metre of Philes' metaphrasis; and a study of how and why Philes rephrased the text of the Psalms.
