In the second half of the sixteenth century, humanists and Calvinists created a unique text genre, the so-called politia judaica-literature, that was centered around the model of the ancient Jewish polity and the political laws of Moses. Dr. theol. Markus M. Totzeck (geb. 1985) war 2011–2015 wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Lehrstuhl für Kirchengeschichte (Reformation und Neuzeit) der Universität Heidelberg und arbeitet derzeit als Pfarrer in der Evangelischen Kirche von Westfalen.
