Findings of dinosaurs were limited to a few bones, and only in the last twenty or thirty years the situation has changed dramatically and dramatically. Five large and globally important sites were found. Some discoveries have become a scientific sensation: in Russia, the remains of the most ancient feathered dinosaur, the richest and most diverse fauna of mammaliaforms of the mid-Jurassic period, were found, and a huge region was discovered where evolution practically stopped during the time of dinosaurs. The book by the science journalist and historian of paleontology Anton Nelikhov tells about these and many other findings, theories and hypotheses, as well as about the difficult history of discovering and "closing" the locations of Russian dinosaurs, about the latest methods for studying their remains, about dinosaurs in folk culture and, finally , about the prospects for the study of Russian dinosaurs.
