But Diomedes unexpectedly meets the avatar of the Goddess Aphrodite at her Temple in Paphos, the city of her birth. Will she take him from Lieia? Will his wanderings end, or will he head back to sea to seek redemption from the past in the further unknown? Aphrodite must also deal with the beautiful, impetuous youth, Adonis, who wishes Diomedes were gone and swears he would die for Aphrodite.

The Bronze Age Collapse was a time of such chaos that empires fell, royalty was overthrown, palaces and temples were destroyed, and the hierarchy of the gods was doubted, yet people's self-reliance emerged like never before, and the ancient Great Goddess of the Cycles of Time, who had been suppressed, began to regain her former dominance. The Bronze Age Collapse was brought about by similar issues to those we face todaymassive climate change, the control of wealth by power elites, the problem of runaway migrations, and wars of conquest.

Autorenporträt

Gregory Michael Nixon read Homer's Iliad as a teenager and has been compelled by ancient myth and history ever since. He put it aside, getting his doctorate in Philosophy to spend his adult years as a teacher and professor across the U.S. and western Canada. He has now retired to live alone by Okanagan Lake in the Canadian Rockies where he wrote his first historical novel, The Diomedeia: Diomedes, the Peoples of the Sea and the Fall of the Hittite Empire, set during the Bronze Age Collapse, an era comparable to our own in some ways. Diomedes in Kyprios is his second novel, and the final of the trilogy awaits.
