The author of this book, Father Henry Laminnis Al -Jesoui, aims to make the names of places in Lebanon evidence to reveal the historical geography of Lebanon in ancient time. This helps to know the effects of peoples who have followed the places of research, and we can also know the systems, worship and benefits of peoples. We also provided us with a perception of the state of the aforementioned land and a pioneer on it from geographical symptoms, such as mines, forests, and codes. Perhaps this work is not easy, as there are many regulations and indexes that show these places and determine their locations. Perhaps this book bridges the need of researchers to these indexes and regulations, as it displays the names of geographical places, such as the names of villages and properties and clarifies the limits of old provinces that were not mentioned before. And what the author has reached his knowledge of the names of places and monuments, overcoming the Syriac and Arabic languages ¿¿on them. He has inferred the Arabic designations on the modernity of the era of housing and homes, in contrast to the Aramaic designations that preceded Arabic in entering Lebanon and finally concluded the inability and shortcomings of languages ¿¿to influence the nomination of Lebanese places.
