William Payne retired as a tenured professor from Ashland Theological Seminary in 2024 after teaching for twenty-three years. Currently, he pastors First Methodist Church in Live Oak, Florida. He has published three books: American Methodism: Past and Future Growth (2013), Adventures in Spiritual Warfare (2018), Satan Exposed: A Biblical Theology of Spiritual Warfare (2019), and thirty-one peer-reviewed articles. He earned a PhD from Asbury Theological Seminary.
