Autorenporträt
Malinda Elliott Cramer was a healer and a leader in the early New Thought movement. She was born on February 12, 1844, and she died on August 2, 1906. Cramer's parents, Obediah and Mary Hinshaw Elliott, had her in Greensboro, Indiana. She moved to San Francisco in 1872 to try to fix a health problem that kept coming back. There, she met Charles Lake Cramer, a photographer, whom she married the same year. Even though she moved, she still had health problems that made her unable to work. In 1885, maybe with the help of Christian Scientist Miranda Rice, Cramer had what she called a "divine revelation" after a "hour of earnest meditation and prayerful seeking." She said, "That hour was the beginning of my realization of the oneness of life; a flash of its truth flashed across my mental vision." She got better in two years.
