Dracula is an 1897 Gothic horror novel by Irish author Bram Stoker. It introduced the character of Count Dracula, and established many conventions of subsequent vampire fantasy. The novel tells the story of Dracula's attempt to move from Transylvania to England so that he may find new blood and spread the undead curse, and of the battle between Dracula and a small group of men and a woman led by Professor Abraham Van Helsing. Abraham "Bram" Stoker was an Irish author, best known today for his Gothic novel Dracula. During his lifetime, he was better known as the personal assistant of actor Sir Henry Irving and business manager of the Lyceum Theatre in London. Abraham 'Bram' Stoker war ein irischer Schriftsteller, der heute immer noch wegen seines Vampir-Romans Dracula bekannt ist. Zu seinen Lebzeiten war er dagegen als persönlicher Assistent des Schauspielers Sir Henry Irving bekannt, dem Geschäftsführer des Lyceum Theatre in London.
