Produktbeschreibung
Four stories, all creating an adventure that holds the reader in suspense until the final outcome. The outcomes are satisfying to young readers. They are set in venues as far apart as Western Australia (Wet Day Rescue) to Dragon Kite (Somerset, England) to Egypt (A Tangle of Stars) and to grassy fields anywhere (Henrys Special Day). As the venues are familiar ground to Tanya (except Egypt in the time of the pharaohs), they give a ring of authenticity. Tanya has herself climbed the Tor of Dragon Kite in the wind and has cycled along the road by the sea in Western Australia near Mandurah (Wet Day Rescue). Memories of these times inspired the stories. Many of you will have watched a grasshopper jumping and rubbing its legs, making sounds (Henrys Special Day).

Autorenporträt
Tanya is a painter/illustrator and art teacher exhibiting in Australia and overseas. She was born in England, but her early schooling was in the States, Baltimore. Her love of drawing has been passed onto both her daughters and her grandchildren. Tanya has a master's degree of fine arts by research in painting from Sydney and a degree in art education from the UK. She has long been enthralled by children's literature. As a child, she was often ill, and reading became the best way to enter worlds other than her own. She drew and illustrated stories from an early age. The stories in this book were inspired by her grandchildren. Tanya exhibits in both Australia and overseas, and her illustrations for Pan Macmillan, Harcourt Brace Jovanovitch, have been selected for the children's book fair in Sydney. This is her first book of stories for young children. It was written and illustrated by herself.
