Produktbeschreibung
Dramatics is a study of personal identity and role playing. The story centers on Allen, a novelist from Los Angeles, who joins his old friend Charlie for a summer of experimental theater at a magnificent chateau in the south of France. The focus of the action is the interplay among the three principal characters: the introspective writer Allen, the accomplished actress Mireille, and the gregarious devotee of experimental theater, Charlie. As the drama unfolds, Charlie refuses to direct his own play, claiming that there are no directors in life, so why should there be any in the theater? Charlie's intransigence forces Allen and the rest of the cast to enter a world of hazard and improvisation, where the line between life and art is permanently blurred. Length: approximately 67,000 words.

Autorenporträt
Bill Lloyd is a novelist whose work deals with human relationships and the search for meaning in a postmodern world. His first novel, Searching for Cibola, follows the emotional journey of a middle-aged man as he tries to make sense of his life following the sudden departure of his wife after twenty-five years of marriage. His second novel, The Solitude Myth, explores a young man's struggle to separate truth from fiction during an extended stay in the south of France. His third novel, Dramatics, is a study of personal dynamics and role playing at an experimental theater production in the Languedoc region of France.

Several years ago, Bill Lloyd retired from Academia to begin a new career as a writer. A native New Yorker and long-time resident of California, he now divides his time between the high desert of New Mexico and the vineyards of the Languedoc region of southern France.
