Autorenporträt
Zambian born writer and poet, Malama Katulwende, first published his poetry in an anthology titled, Under the African Skies: Poetry form Zambia in 2003. Yet this is the first time that Malama has presented to the world some of his best pieces of unpublished poetry which he had been writing for nearly two decades. Like most of his published works, Drums of War is a call to battle. It raises into focus Africas most pertinent challenges: underdevelopment, corruption, conflict and post-colonial alienation. Malamas poetry is a stark reflection of his culture, history and intellectual environments in which he has been able to create. Educated in Catholic schools and the University of Zambia, Malama Katulwende was born in the Luapula province of Zambia. He has taught mathematics and physics at different schools. Malama is an entrepreneur and co-founder of Knowledgegates Tools, an information technology company based in Lusaka. Among other works Malama has also published Bitterness and The Fire At The Core: Discourses on African Aesthetics, Music, Juriprudence, Ethni-politics and Good Governance.
