Scott was one of the greatest twentieth-century writers, a novelist, short-story writer, and essayist. In his lifetime, he had published over 164 short stories, four novels, and four story collections. His work has been translated into many languages, and he mostly writes stories with the theme of youth, love, despair, age, etc.
