Carbon dioxide reduction is a key research challenge in the global mission to reduce CO 2 emissions. The process presents a unique challenge in that it can produce several different products, presenting the user with the challenge of selectively and efficiently producing on single useful material. This book presents an introduction to the field, covering the chemical reactions involved, the range of innovative materials and reactor designs most recently developed, and the future targets that need to be met.

Autorenporträt
Samuel C. Perry is a Research Fellow at University of Southampton. He has published widely on various electrochemical processes, including CO2 conversion, electrochemical sensing, and microelectrode applications. He is a leader for the CO2 reduction package of the H2020 CO2EXIDE project, responsible for directing research and mentoring a number of undergraduate and graduate students. He has extensive experience in multiple areas of oxygen electrochemistry essential to this proposal, including reduction kinetics, identification of reaction intermediates and surface chemistry. He has a number of wider collegial roles, including a founder member of the Southampton University Early Career Researcher Committee, and is the Early Career Representative for the Royal Society of Chemistry Steering Group. He is also experienced in scientific communication both within the scientific community and to wider audiences, having presented his work at 11 international conferences and to MPs at the Houses of Parliament.
