Autorenporträt
Kinattingal Sundareswaran was born in Pallassana, Kerala, India, in 1966. He received the B.Tech. (Hons.) degree in electrical and electronics engineering and the M.Tech. (Hons.) degree in power electronics from the University of Calicut, Calicut, Kerala, India, in 1988 and 1991, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India, in 2001. From 2005 to 2006, he was a Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Calicut, Kerala, India. He is currently a Professor with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India. His research interests include power electronics, renewable energy systems, and biologically inspired optimization techniques.
He has chaired as Head of the EEE department in National Institute of Technology during 2015-2018. Also awarded "Best Teacher Award" in 2007.He is a Fellow of "Institution of Engineers (India)" since 2014 and authored 70 Research Journals and 45 Conferences/Workshops/Symposia. Authored book "A Learner's Guide to Fuzzy Logic Systems(ISBN 81-7992 - 416 - 5)" in 2005. He was also a prominent member in many industrial R&D projects undertaken by BHEL, Trichy and CPRI, Bangalore. He also filed several patens including in the area of power electronic drives. One of the recent patents that he has filed in association with BHEL Trichy is development of motor drive for butter extraction system.
He is teaching the subject power electronic drives for the PG and UG courses for the past 20 years at National Institute of Technology, Trichy. He also teaches the subject Fuzzy systems at National Institute of Technology, Trichy. He has delivered invited talks at several technical institutions in India on power electronic drives and fuzzy systems.
