Emerald Rising, the lead story, is about Native American students escape from an Indian Boarding School in the 1880s. The Grocer is a Great Depression era story with a humerous twist and moral lesson. Fishing Hole begins as a boy meet girl story and dangles as a dramatic cliff hanger, 1969. Other stories are whisical teenage Baby Boomer events in the northern Great Lakes Region. Stillness is a tough and tender father and son exchange from about 1968 to a bit past the First Gulf War.
