Dr. Vinay Kumar Midha is Professor in the Department of Textile Technology at National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar (India). He obtained his B.Tech. from REC Jalandhar and M.B.A. from Punjabi University Patiala. He did M.Tech. (Textile Engineering) and Ph.D. from the department of Textile Technology, IIT Delhi. His academic and research experience spans over 27 years after having 1 year of industrial experience. His specialization and field of work are sewing dynamics, nonwovens and technical textiles, spinning systems and textile project management. He has been involved in several research projects funded by MHRD and DST. He has guided eight students for their dissertation work, who have been awarded Ph.D. degree. He has held various administrative assignments like Head of the Department of Textile Technology and Dean Faculty Welfare at the Institute during these years. Prof. S. Rajendran moved to the University of Bolton, UK, in 1998 after 17 years of service at the South India Textile Research Association (SITRA), India. Since then he has been actively involved in healthcare, polymeric and biomedical textile devices research, teaching and consultancy assignments at the Institute for Materials Research and Innovation, School of Engineering. He is currently Emeritus Professor at the University of Bolton, UK. He has previously held the position of Professor of Biomedical Materials and STEM Champion. Professor Rajendran has 42 years of academic experience and has published 181 research papers that include 11 books and 8 patents. Recently he has been honored with a prestigious medal by the Textile Institute for his devotion to the furtherance of scientific knowledge concerning fibrous materials. Prof. Raul Fangueiro is currently Vice-Dean of the School of Engineering, University of Minho, Portugal. He is Full Professor and Senior Researcher with expertise in advanced materials (nano, smart, composites) and structures (3D, auxetic, multiscale). He is Mentor and Head of FIBRENAMICS, Institute of Innovation on Fiber-Based Materials and Composites (www.fibrenamics.com). He has more than 200 published papers in international reputed scientific journals (Google Scholar H factor: 47), 500 conference publications, 36 books and 40 patents and also appears in the top 2% Stanford's world most influential scientists. He is Scientific Coordinator of several national and international research projects on advanced fibrous and composite materials, mainly for building, defense, architecture and healthcare applications.
