Francis Grandinetti's educational career spans 42 years during which time he was employed as a teacher, counselor, elementary principal, school superintendent, and university assistant professor. He has always been captivated by the background of minor characters in a story. These characters are seldom mentioned but essential to the tale's underlying theme. Originally from Ridgway, Pennsylvania, he presently resides in Southern Pines, North Carolina with his wife Carolyn.

Emilio was Dr. Grandinetti's uncle and godfather. The naming of this book is a tribute to his memory. His granddaughter Evalyn is the love of his life and Emilio's Secret is dedicated to her.
