This fictional book, Encounters in a Parallel World, is thought provoking with humor, romance and intrigue. This is Book one of a trilogy, and is about the human dilemma based on the outcome of events in alternate parallel worlds.
It also explores the possibility that any life-form on one world may evolve to become the dominant intelligent life on some other parallel world.
Apart from believing he has met the perfect woman; the grand opera singer Cassiopeia. Le Bertrand also meets versions of people from his world of Eartheria, who made different choices, so that their lives represent dissimilar outcomes on Garlainia. For example, one of the great theoretical physicists on Eartheria and possibly some other world, is known as the greatest ice skater on Garlainia.
Le Bertrand is informed that a version of his brother, who died before he was born, currently exists on Garlainia. A version of a prince on Eartheria exists as an attorney from some other world, and is intent on prosecuting Le Bertrand.
Along with all that, Garlainians discover that their world is being observed by explorers from another world that include humans collaborating with a highly evolved intelligent species of bear called Couchawa.
The book meanders through some intriguing encounters and romance, along with discussions of various philosophical, political and economic issues.
Le Bertrand gets arrested, and an inquiry ensues. He is provided the opportunity to sing the aria, La chi darem la mono, with his beloved Cassiopia, but the judgments rendered at the inquiry present Le Bertrand with two choices.
Suffice it to say that sometimes an unwitting mistake from the past could postpone or derail the future.
